We’ve just found out that there’s yet another Android tablet from Archos hitting the FCC, this time the successor to the Archos 80 G9 released last year. Meet the Archos 80 Cobalt, pictured below. Archos 80 G9 came at that time with an 8 inch display, setting it apart from the sea of 7 inch models out there.

This follow-up will most likely keep the screen size and possibly the 1024 x 768 pixel resolution as well. A dual core TI OMAP 4 processor should be on board of the newcomer and the product is expected to start shipping soon enough. There are very few details available for this model, apart from its support for WiFi connectivity. Odds are that this is exactly the same Archos 80 model, but with a change of color, to blue. Hopefully we’ll also find some hardware improvements.

It’s been 8 months since the launch of the original Archos 80, so the hardware is certainly in need of improvements. Android 4.0 would be a nice addition, running on a 1.5 GHz processor. A price tag of less than $250 is also welcome, if possible.
