Acer didn’t only bring Windows 8 slates to Computex 2012, but also some Android 4.0 models, that didn’t get as much screen time as the other models. I’m talking about the new Acer Iconia Tab A210 and Acer Iconia Tab A110, both based on the quad core Tegra 3 CPU and Android 4.0. They didn’t even get a press release, sadly…
The folks of Engadget had to stumble upon them to make them famous, apparently. There’s no info on pricing yet, but an Acer rep said that we should expect this pair to launch at some point in Q3. Acer Iconia Tab A110 is a sequel to Acer Iconia Tab A100 and features a 7 inch display with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. Under the hood there’s the quad core processor I mentioned, plus 1GB of RAM, 8 GB of native memory and a microSD card slot. The specs are completed by a micro HDMI and micro USB ports.
Supposedly, this model also has the same cameras as its predecessor, so we expect a 2MP front shooter and a 5MP one at the back. Moving on to the Acer Iconia A210, this one also shares quite a bit of specs with its predecessor, the Acer Iconia Tab A200, including the 10 inch 1280 x 800 screen, USB 2.0 port and microSD card slot. There’s also a 3,620 mAh battery on board, just like the previous model, but the main difference is the jump from dual core Tegra 2 chip to the quad core Tegra 3. There’s no rear camera on either the new Iconia Tab A210 or the predecessor.
