With the iPhone 5 most likely launching on October 4th, anything else launched on that date will pale… even the Galaxy Tab 8.9 slate from Samsung, that’s actually scheduled to debut next Tuesday.
You might be familiar with the Galaxy Tab 8.9 as the smaller version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1, that’s been getting a lot of press recently. Detailed at CTIA 2011, where it was available for hands on quality time, this tiny model will be available starting October 4th in two storage versions: 16GB and 32GB.
The firs will be priced at $469, while the second will cost $569 and both will be WiFi-only units with a dual core T250S processor. The screen is a WXGA TFT with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and Gorilla Glass protection, while under the hood we find a very impressive 6,100 mAh battery, with enough juice to run Android 3.1 Honeycomb with TouchWiz UI safely.
