Samsung has just announced the nationwide availability of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet, that’s priced at $499 for the 16GB model and $599 for the 32GB one. The device is coming today and at this hour it might already be available in most stores.
We’re dealing with an Android 3.1 model here with a 10.1 inch WXGA display and the ability to function for up to 9 hours per charge, thanks to a 7,000 mAh battery. The premiere of the unit was at the Best Buy Union Square Store in New York on June 8, but now the time has come for a nationwide launch of the product, so the exclusivity is gone.
In case you’re wondering, the slate is ultra-slim, at 8.6mm and weighs a mere 565 grams, so it’s both thinner and lighter than the iPad 2.
