Infinix is stepping up its game in the tablet space with the upcoming XPad GT, its first entry into the GT-series tablet lineup. Officially set to debut on May 21 in Malaysia alongside the GT 30 Pro smartphone, the XPad GT now has its core specs confirmed — and they hint at a bold push into the gaming tablet arena.
Leading the charge is a 12.1-inch 2.8K display, likely LCD, with a blazing 144Hz refresh rate — a clear nod to competitive gaming. This display is backed by Snapdragon 888 silicon, marking the first time Infinix has used a Snapdragon processor in any of its devices. While the 888 isn’t Qualcomm’s latest chip, its inclusion suggests a deliberate move to balance flagship-level performance with budget-conscious pricing.
Audio looks equally ambitious. The XPad GT will feature an eight-speaker system engineered for immersive 3D surround sound, making it ideal not only for gaming but also for streaming and media playback. It will also support Folax, Infinix’s in-house AI assistant.
While not all internals are officially detailed, leaks suggest the tablet will pack a 10,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Photography isn’t the focus, but it’s expected to ship with a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front shooter — decent enough for video calls and casual snaps.
The May 21 event will also expand the company’s GT Verse ecosystem. Alongside the XPad GT and GT 30 Pro (powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 and equipped with shoulder triggers and cyber lighting), Infinix will unveil the GT Buds with 30dB active noise cancellation, ZCLIP clip-on earbuds, and a 55W GT Power Bank.
While Infinix isn’t yet a household name in the tablet space, the XPad GT shows it’s aiming high — with specs tuned for gamers and media enthusiasts alike. All eyes now turn to the May 21 launch.
