Not long ago, Acer’s CEO Gianfranco Lanci stepped down from his position and now the company is preparing for release what looks like a pretty appealing iPad 2 rival. We’re talking about the Acer Iconia A500 tablet here, priced at $449 and coming at the end of April.
Pre-orders are accepted at Best Buy right now and we have to mention that this is a Honeycomb slate, using an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor at 1GHz. Other features include an SD card slot, with support for up to 32GB, a 5 megapixel camera at the rear and a 2MP one upfront. The screen is a 10.2 inch unit, able to play 1080p videos.
There’s also a HDMI port for playing media on big screen TVs, if you want to. Acer is also releasing a Windows 7 model, so it’s something for everyone in their portofolio.
