Honor held a pretty big event today, where it unveiled a few phones and also a new tablet. In some regions it’s called Honor Tablet 8 and in others Honor Pad 8. We’ll stick with Honor Pad 8 for this article and we’ll recap its specs below.

We’re dealing with 12 inch tablet with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor inside. This CPU was also found on the Honor X8, by the way. The new tablet is the successor for the last year’s Honor Pad V7 and features a generous 12 inch screen and an optional keyboard attachment. Honor Pad 8 uses an IPS LCD display with a 2000 x 1200 pixel resolution. It features small bezels and the top one hosts a camera. There’s another 5 MP shooter at the back side.

The Snapdragon 680 processor is accompanied by 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM and also 128 GB of storage. Honor didn’t say anything about a microSD card slot, but we can assume there’s none. Pad 8 is promoted as a device for multimedia entertainment, with Magic UI 6.1 on board, supporting split screen for over 6000 apps. It offers widgets, floating windows and the ability to hook up the tablet to Honor phones. It weighs 520 grams, but also measures a mere 6.9 mm in thickness.

There’s an USB-C port at the bottom, used to charge the 7250 mAh battery at 22.5W. Honor Pad 8 is available in 3 colors: white, blue and mint green. The starting price is $220, but there’s an early bird offer at $207.
