As you know, the standalone Nook is pretty much dead, so now Barnes & Noble relies on Samsung to deliver its book reading experience to the masses. They’re doing that by releasing Galaxy Tab 4 Nook models.
There’s already a 7 inch version released in August and priced at $180 and now there’s a $299 one (after a $50 rebate) 10.1 inch slate made available this week. Enhanced Nook software will be made available for the smaller model in November and the same software comes with the new 10 inch tablet. The product has a 3 MP back camera and a front 1.3 MP shooter.
By the way, the 10.1 inch Tab 4 Nook launches with about $200 worth of free Nook content. The content includes best selling books, TV shows, top magazines and apps. The specs of the new Tab 4 Nook include a 1.2 GHz quad core processor, a 1280 x 800 pixel display, 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and GPS.
