Lenovo introduced during today’s Ashton Kutcher-infused event two new convertible notebooks, once with a 14 inch screen and one with a 13 incher. The first one is the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 14, with a 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS display, 8 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.
The event in London today didn’t exactly feature this model on the screen, since it’s not consumer based (like the event). This one is a business notebook with an Intel Core i5 Haswell processor and it also has 16 GB of solid state cache, as well as a docking connector, plus ports that include an SD card reader, 2 USB 3.0 ports and a USB 2.0 one. There’s HDMI output and this model is quite bulky at 0.7 inches in thickness and with a weight of 4.1 pounds.
The ThinkPad Yoga 14 has a resilient magnesium alloy case and a keyboard that retracts when you flip the screen back 360 degrees to enter tablet mode. The price tag of this device is $1200 and up. The second convertible notebook shown today measures half an inch in thickness and it’s called the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro. It packs an Intel Core M Broadwell CPU, Windows software and a screen that bends backward.
It also offers a 13.3 inch 3200 x 1800 pixel IPS screen, 8 GB of RAM, 512 GB of SSD and up to 9 hours of battery life. There’s an aluminum hinge design in the mix, micro HDMI output, WiFi, USB 3.0 ports and 4 speakers. The product is priced a $1350 and up.
