Various store chains all over the world have grown fond of the idea of selling their own branded tablets. Among them is Tesco, that along with groceries sells the Hudl slate, priced at 119 quid. The device is apparently doing very well, judging by the figures below.

The product got 35k units sold in the first days after the debut and now the chain said that during past 3 months they’ve reached 400,000 units in sales. This is a very good start for the Hudl, that could make the likes of Kobo Arc and Nook HD jealous. Tesco wants to offer grocery orders and movie downloads straight from the tablet’s apps.

They’re also preparing a refreshed device with improved specs, later in 2014. For those who don’t know, the Tesco Hudl is a 7 inch 1440 x 900 pixel device, with 1W stereo speakers, a 1.5 GHz quad core processor and 1 GB of RAM on board. The device runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and integrates 16 GB of storage, plus a microSD card slot.
