During the Hong Kong Electronics Fair, someone spotted an interesting new tablet called the iFive X2, that stands out through its quad core CPU and high resolution. We’re dealing with an 8.9 inch model here, powered by a Rockchip CPU and shown in the image below.

The full name of the device is the Five Elements iFive X2 and it supports a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution on an IPS display. It relies on the quad core RK3188 processor, packs 2 GB of RAM and has a microSD card slot, as well as Bluetooth, WiFi and a 5 megapixel camera at the back. Upfront there’s a 2 megapixel shooter and inside there’s a 7,200 mAh battery.

No idea what the price or launch date will be, but seeing how this model may be available only in Asia, you can probably forget about an US launch. The slate looks pretty decent, though, as far as design is concerned and it looks like something Samsung would do, if they were trying to get a high resolution tablet on the mass market.
