One of the funniest, most sincere and pleasant to watch unboxings ever was done this week, when Nintendo’s president got his hands dirty and unboxed the Wii U. You MUST watch the video below, since it’s very original, professional and slightly funny, in a good way.

Satoru Iwata is the Nintendo president performing this early unboxing and I have to mention that the Wii U only comes out in North America in about 11 days, so you’re in for quite a wait. The unboxing shows us the Deluxe Set version of the product, going for $349.99, with extras like GamePad charging cradle, console stand pieces and 32 GB of internal storage, plus a copy of Nintendo Land. You can see the president at some point saying that he feels like Mario, immediately after putting on white gloves. That cracked me up!

The gamepad part looks pretty solid and bulky, while the AC adapter and power cord are huge, reminding me of the similar accessories for the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. Nintendo’s Wii U is the first console with a 6.2 inch touchscreen built into the controller, NFC and also TV remote features. The Japanese maker of the product expects to sell 5.5 million Wii U consoles and 24 million Wii U games by Q2 2013. Sold preorders that are going on right now are a good sign for that…
