We informed you a week ago that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 LTE in South Korea got Android 4.0 ICS via an update. That happened while the US 10.1 inch model and the Galaxy Tab 7 on T-Mobile were also receiving the software via Kies. Now it turns out the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 LTE is receiving Ice Cream Sandwich in South Korea.
Previously the slate was running Android 3.2 Honeycomb and now it gets Android 4.0, complete with Face Unlock, improved performance and multitasking via swipe. Users can download the latest Kies to upgrade the tablet and I’m curios to see how long it takes for the update to come worldwide, not only in South Korea. It’s such a shame that only now we get this software, when people are already speculating on Android Key Lime Pie/whatever the next version will be.
While ASUS is updating its tablets to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Samsung barely manages to give ICS to its slates. Score one for ASUS for reliability and a big no-no for Samsung!
