Casio VX Tablet is a brand new slate from the famous watch maker, that unveiled this 10 inch tough model this week, also announcing that it packs Android 4.0 and a 12 hour battery. The VX will go on sale this fall and it seems it’s not a consumer device, but rather one designed to be used in shops.

Casio’s device is meant for retail staff and focuses on point of sale apps in the new Casio Business Portal. The slate is compatible with card readers, phones with NFC and you must know that the Casio VX is also drop and splash resistant. The same device also comes with a 10.1 inch display with unknown resolution and GPS, but other than that its specs are a mystery. The image you see here comes from the Retail Business Technology Expo and there are apparently two battery versions of the product: 5000 mAh and 7000 mAh.

You can drop this tablet from up to a meter and other specs include a 5 megapixel main camera, a 2 megapixel front camera and 16 GB of flash memory. Expect to see this unit in shops, connected to various point of sale devices and card readers and such. As far as price goes, Casio only said that the VX will be more expensive than the new iPad.
