The guys of our sister site Mobilissimo.ro had the chance the preview a Romanian tablet called the Evolio Neura. This is a dual core Android slate with Tegra 2 CPU and specifications similar to the ones of the Motorola Xoom and the iPad 2. Also, the price is $500 for the WiFi only version, plus $130 more for the 3G version.
Too bad that the slate comes with Android 2.2, at least initially, but a Honeycomb update will come, according to Evolio. The company hopes to move around 1000 units per month following the local July 25 launch of the device. This model packs a 9.7 inch wide angle capacitive screen, much like the one on the iPad.
Also, the slate offers 16GB of internal memory, a HDMI port, a microSD card slot and even support 1080p Full HD video, unlike the iPad 2 for example. Flash support is obviously a plus and an impressive number of accessories will accompany the tablet: capacitive stylus, cases with keyboards, docks, stands and even a wireless HDMI dongle.
There’s only a 1.3 megapixel camera upfront and that’s it, without a back camera. This model weighs 780 grams, which is pretty heavy. Here’s the hands on video:
