Ockel Sirius A is a 6 Inch Windows 10 PC, Also a Mini Tablet, With Tons of Ports
Tiny PCs are all the rage right now, with people buying mini PCs and All in Ones, because they take up less space. Some computers even come in 6 inch smartphone format, unbelievable as that may seem. One such example is the Ockel Sirius, a 6 inch Windows 10 PC, that can also be seen as sort of a mini tablet.
The Sirius A is a 6 inch tablet, that has the looks of an universal remote and comes inside an anodized aluminum shell, where there’s an Intel Atom x7-Z8750 CPU to run the show. The OS is either Windows 10 Home or Pro and this project isn’t even Ockel’s first of the kind. They’ve previously made the Sirius B, a compact computer with full Windows 10.
The newcomer is dubbed Sirius A and it has a 6 inch Full HD touchscreen display with multitouch support. It’s able to show a desktop or the Windows Start Menu, but the unit shown at CES 2017 was merely a prototype, just for show. The form factor of the product is unusual, with a sloped design and big bezels. There’s HDMI here to connect to a full size screen and the option to connect to a QWERTY keyboard is available too.
The port selection is generous, including two USB 3.0 ports, a single USB Type C, full size HDMI and DisplayPort with 4K output. Gigabit Ethernet is here, plus a microSDXC card slot, WiFi a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.2. There’s a 5 megapixel camera included, speakers, a microphone, accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer. A 3000 mAh to 3500 mAh battery will juice up the machine.
Two versions are available: one with Windows 10 Home, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of flash storage, priced at $699 and a Sirius A Pro, with double the RAM and storage, Windows 10 Pro and priced at $799.
