  • It’s very hard to tell which is phone and which is tablet nowadays, with so many slates having phone call features and so many phones increasing in diagonal size. Alcatel debuted one such inbetweener at CES 2017, the Alcatel A3 XL model, that’s pictured below.

This device has a 6 inch HD screen and modest specs, being meant for the Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa and Latin America regions. It’ll go there in Q1 2017 and also come to Europe in Q2. This unit inaugurates the Alcatel new A series of phones and comes with a fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE support and apparently also with enhanced acoustics.

Alcatel promises affordability and judging by their official image, this is a device made of plastic with a modest camera area at the back. Priced at around $200, this handset has a 3000 mAh battery, 8 GB of storage, an 8 megapixel back camera and 5 MP front shooter. At least it comes with Android 7.0 Nougat and I should mention that it relies on a quad core MediaTek 1.1 GHz processor.
