  • It’s launch time today, as Dell brought yet another 2 in 1 tablet at CES 2017, in Las Vegas. The newcomer is dubbed Dell Latitude 5825 and it’s a 2 in 1 machine with a 7th Gen Intel Core i processor inside.

Since it’s part of the Latitude series, this is clearly a business model, which is confirmed by the presence of a smartcard reader, a fingerprint scanner and optional business software from Dell. There’s Data Protection and Management software, Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise, Threat Defense, Protected Workspace, MozyPro and so much more.

And that’s only the software! On the hardware part, there’s a 12.3 inch Full HD touchscreen display, while inside rests a an Intel Core i 7th gen CPU, with Intel HD Graphics 620, up to 1 TB of storage PCIe NVMe SSD and Windows 10 as the OS. An optional external keyboard accessory will be available, but pricing has yet to be mentioned.

We also get a 5 MP front facing camera, an 8 MP back camera, face IR camera feature and an integrated array microphone. RAM quantity goes from 4 GB to 8 or 16 GB.

Only Windows 10 and not Windows 10 Pro?

The phrase “Full HD” has been abused so much that it is impossible to know about resolution and display ratio. I have yet to see a reliable confirmation of these values. Of course, I am even much more interested in the degrees of reflectance.

Countless software security means are meaningless as long as Windows 10 (Pro) steals (telemetry and other) data.
