  • There’s a new interesting slate in town today, a tablet that was previously leaked as a Meizu model and today it actually turns out to be a model called the JDTab, a 7.9 inch unit with a solid set of specs.

Jingdong’s product (which as far as I know is a Chinese retailer) is this JDtab J01, that stands out through the inclusion of Harman Kardon technology. Foxconn is the maker of the device, clad in aluminum and adopting a metal unibody design. Available in silver or gold, the product is only 6.95 mm thick and weighs 370 grams.

It packs a 7.9 inch 2048 x 1536 pixel display, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, plus a pretty generous 6000 mAh battery, that should offer around 10 hours of video playback. The JDTab has a MediaTek MT8173 processor inside, a quad core 2 GHz chip, with PowerVR GX6250 GPU in the mix too. JDtab uses USB Type C connectivity and it’s priced at a mere $215.

    Availability starts on January 10th.
