Fresh ASUS Chromebook Spotted on Newegg Priced at $499, Could be a Chromebook Flip Follow-up
It would appear that ASUS is still interested in Chromebooks, in spite of making more sense to get into the resurfacing laptop segment nowadays. Anyway, there appears to be a new ASUS ChromeBook in our sights, since such a device was spotted on Newegg recently.
This is supposed to be the successor to the famous Chromebok Flip and the new product is codenamed ASUS C302CA. It’s being listed on Newegg with a $499 price tag and offering a 12.5 inch Full HD screen, as well as an Intel Core m3 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, as well as 2 USB Type C 3.1 ports. It all weighs a mere 2.65 pounds and we also get a backlit keyboard, plus a microSD card slot. The product measures 0.54 inches in thickness and overall the device is bigger, but also thinner than the Chromebook Flip from last year.
The ASUS C302CA is going to compete with the Samsung Chromebook Pro, also priced at a similar rate. Interestingly, Newegg already removed the listing, having spotted its error and it’s not very clear if this product will come to CES or maybe MWC. The design is rather basic, with a typical comfy ASUS keyboard and a rotating screen, that triggers several usage scenarios.
