Computex 2010: Innoversal Lattice Tablet Brings the Pixel Qi Display Back to the Scene (Video)
Jun 4, 2010 Tablet related
Pixel Qi was all the rage at some point, but lately we haven’t heard anything about this display technology. However, the screen with an amazing ability to show content in direct sunlight is back, this time at Computex 2010 on the Innoversal Lattice tablet. The device gets pictured below and detailed in the video at the end of the article:
Lattice features a 10.1 inch, 1024×600 Pixel Qi display, a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, an SSD with 64GB storage space, WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0. There’s also an integrated 3G modem on board and you can choose your own OS for this slate, with the options being Windows, Linux or Google Chrome.
The latter remains a mystery, specially as far as the launch date is concerned, but it would be nice to see Lattice as the very first device to run it. Here’s a video of the new tablet:

Pixel Qi DIY Kits Ready for Launch, Extremely User-Friendly
Mar 12, 2010 Tablet related
Pixel Qi is the revolutionary display technology that’s meant to take over the market in the future, or so hope its promoters. Last we heard, the product was meant for a Q2 launch, as DIY kits that allow the users to replace their own laptop screens. The units are 10 inch modules and they’re very easy to use and replace with other sunlight-friendly Pixel Qi screens.
All of this info comes from Mary Lou Jepsen’s blog and in case you don’t know, she’s the CEO of the company behind this screen technology. Notion Ink Adam incorporated such a display, shown at CES 2010. Its hybrid screen was very responsive and versatile, with the important advantage of having a hugely reduced battery consumption.

Notion Ink’s Tablet to be Called Adam, Launched in June 2010
Dec 31, 2009 Tablet related
As we previously informed you in an older story, there’s a cool tablet coming from India, bearing the Notion Ink branding. Now, the device gets a name, Adam and a release date: June 2010. The product will have pretty incredible specs, like an impressive battery life, plus a Tegra and Pixel Qi combo.
At this point, Notion Ink is discussing a couple of tests in the 3G connectivity department, both with Indian and US operators. The device’s 3G bands are compatible with AT&T’s network, so this is a golden opportunity for the carrier to get a new cash cow, specially if they lose the iPhone to Verizon.
It’s possible that we’ll see a couple mode Pixel Qi devices getting launched till Adam hits the market, but its main appeal will remain the low price, about $321.
