HP Turns Palm Acquisition Into a Tablet; Files for Palmpad Trademark
Jul 20, 2010 HP
We’re finally starting to see the results of the HP – Palm merger, as the two companies are working on a tablet. This info was recently confirmed by the fact that HP filed for the “Palmpad” trademark. We’re talking about a USPTO Trademark application filed on July 9th by HP, one that lists “computers, computer hardware, software, peripherals, portable computers, PDAs” and more.
There’s also a rumoured launch date, as the upcoming Palmpad slate is supposed to debut in Q3. It all seems a bit too early, but Palm might have already been working on a device that HP took over and perfected. What about the naming? Do you like it?

Palm and HP Already Working on webOS Tablet; Named Hurricane?
May 9, 2010 HP
It’s been a week or so since HP officially announced that it was acquiring Palm and rumours about the companies’ joint products have started to surface. Apparently, the two are readying a webOS tablet called Hurricane, which is pretty odd, considering that HP unveiled the Slate tablet a while back during CES 2010. However, a couple of days ago we learned that this project was cancelled, so the Hurricane might replace it.

Rumours claim that HP and Palm’s brainchild will debut in Q3 2010, but webOS is a strange choice for a tablet, if you ask me. Perhaps a new version of the platform will put the slate’s features to good use and for now, we consider the whole story about the Palm/HP tablet to be as real as the one concerning the BlackBerry slate.
