Apple iPad First Leaked Image Available!

As the countdown towards Apple’s 27 January event in San Francisco continues, we’ve come across what seems to be the very first leaked image of the upcoming Apple Tablet, dubbed the iPad. It seems that this is the 10 inch display on the device and the photo looks pretty genuine, if you ask me.

Of course, this can be a fake, but usually Mr. Blurrycam doesn’t do fakes, as far as our experience can tell. Notice that the photo was taken in front of a MacBook, so the product can somehow be related. What do you say? Does this look like a fake iPad/iSlate or the device you’ve been craving for?

Apple Tablet, Reaching Production Phase

The long list of Apple Tablet-related rumours continues, this time with an analyst of AVI Securities claiming that the product is in “full production” and that NAND flash chips requirements are increasing, because of it.

All the new info comes from an Apple partner, maker of the components that will be used on the tablet.

Analyst Matt Thornton claims that the device has entered full production this month, with a bunch of suppliers having weaker Decembers, because of the production delay. An AVI Securities note claims that the projected shipments for the device are 10 million units per year with the production scheduled for Q1 2010.

The same analyst mentioned that Apple wants to bury e-magazines, e-books and e-readers with the new product, without affecting the smartphone market. Also, netbooks are devices that will compete with the upcoming hit. Experts expect a cannibalization of the netbook and notebook segment, because of the Apple tablet, but is that really a problem if the new device is really great?

10 Inch Apple Tablet Glass Image Surfaces on the Web

The Apple Tablet/iSlate rumours continue, this time with a picture of a 10 inch Apple Tablet glass, published on the web just recently and available below, for you all to see. We remind you that Apple’s tablet is yet to be announced, but it might become official during the company’s event scheduled for January 27th in San Francisco.

The image of the glass published above looks very much like something you’d attach to a giant iPod. If this is a genuine pic, we’d have to say that the top slot is destined to host the speaker, while the upper left hole might incorporate a camera lens. The button on the lower side might be the Home button, just like with the iPhone.

Rumour? Fake? Real?

Apple Tablet’s Component Prices Leaked, Cupertino to Spend $340 on iSlate?

We’re a bit more than 2 weeks away from the supposed debut of the Apple Tablet, during the event scheduled by the Cupertino company on January 27th. Leaks are pouring in from everywhere and this time we’re being treated to a tablet showing the costs of the components incorporated by Apple’s new device.

According to analyst Jeffredy Fidacaro, Apple will spend around $340 for each iSlate model, if that’s the final name of the product. These are mere rumours, but we notice that the 1.8 inch 160GB HDD is the most expensive on the list, going for $75. The ATOM processor and board are next, with a $70 price tag, followed by the display, that costs $50 (as much as the graphics or similar processor, on the list).

The 2GB DRAM memory will cost $39, while the manufacturing is a mere $7. Considering that Apple plans to sell the tablet for $800 – $1000, they’ll be making quite a profit out of the new gizmo, don’t you think?

Apple iSlate Tablet Specs Available on the Web!

With the January 26 Apple event in mind we came across the hottest piece of information of the past months, regarding the tablet made by the folks at Cupertino: its specs. Presumably called the iSlate, this device is pretty well specced, as you can see for yourself, if you check out the following list.

Apple iSlate features a 7.1 inch multitouch display with fingerprint-resistant coating and probably the most surprising of all is the inclusion of a built-in projector. Hardware specs continue with a 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB DDR3 RAM and a 120GB hard drive, but we remind you that this info  must be taken with a grain of salt, specially these days, when rumours about the iSlate are more spread than ever.

The same leaked documents claim that Apple’s device will run the Mac OS X 10.7 Clouded Leopard platform, with a homescreen based on widget and enhanced touchscreen functionality. All that’s left to do now is wait for the official announcement and hope that a bunch of images of the iSlate will leak in the following days.

Motorola Sholes Tablet Gets Pictured, Different Versions Coming?

We’ve seen the Motorola Sholes tablet a bunch of times before, but it seems that the device will have more than one version, according to the latest leaked pics. The device is yet to find an official name and it could be the same tablet we’ve seen a couple of days ago, except for the fact that it replaces the 8 megapixel camera with a 5MP unit.

The photos attached to this article were snapped in China and we’ve come to know that Sholes will be launched by China Unicom, so there’s no info about its European or Asian release.

In case you were expecting more from this tablet, don’t fret, as we’ve heard that Motorola is working on multiple models, so specs might change and this could just be the Chinese version of the device.

Apple Tablet Confirmed by Kids Magazine?!

Of all the places to get the confirmation of the long awaited Apple Tablet, a German kids magazine is the last place we would have counted on. Said teenie mag includes the photo below, most likely a Photoshop work messing with some iPhones and claims that this is in fact the new tablet from Cupertino.

ipad1

Apparently, it sports a 10.2 inch display and it should be called the iPad. Also, the magazine mentions a launch date scheduled for January, but it’s all irrelevant, considering the poor quality of this photo edit. If we start following kids magazines, next thing you know, we’ll be switching on the Disney channel for gadget reviews.

Clearly a fake!

Microsoft’s Courier Gets Detailed; Interface Leaks

Microsoft’s Courier booklet has once again been detailed, this time with a bunch of more plausible info. The device supports finger gestures, so if you pull out a one-finger tap-and-hold, you’ll clip content, while a one-finger flick will scroll vertically and turn pages.

Two finger gestures will open and close apps, while up and down will open an application. A swipe offscreen will close an app, while flicking toward the other screen (two fingers) slides it across. Pinches are also supported, used for zooming. All the content on Courier bears the name of “Infinite Journal”, just like a flowing Pagestream view, easy to manage even if it comes to emails, memos, weather or messages. Should we call it a “home screen”?

Search is also supported on Courier, being performed thanks to criteria like time, location, file name, tags and via handwritting recognition. The “Cloud” is also a feature on this device, so collaborators will be able to leave comments on shared portions of your journal. Also, the “journal” will be accessible from any web browser, probably from other PCs as well.

The booklet’s browser is sort of like a vertical Cover Flow, with the ability to easily clip content. The clip, tuck and paste feature is pretty interesting, since virtually any content can be tucked into the spine and moved from one section of Courier to the other. Even the pen of this device is more than meets the eye, as it comes with two buttons, an eraser and a twisting mechanism, that switches to a different drawing mode. The top button is the undo button.

Courier looks certainly more promising now, than when it was only a mere rumour, we think.

Motorola Sholes is Actually a Tablet?!

A pair of recent leaks related to Motorola points towards the existence of a Motorola Sholes tablet. A portion of the Motoblur website mentions the “Sholes UMTS T-Mobile US” and “Sholes Tablet T-Mobile US”, while Engadget Mobile came across a Moto roadmap, also mentioning the device.

sholes_tablet

Turns out that the Sholes tablet will be available in Q1 2010 and it’ll pack a 3.7 inch touchscreen display, with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution, an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and Xenon flash, plus WiFi and 720p video. Expect the device to hit Europe first and then the US.

Apple Slate is the Tablet We’ve Been Waiting for, SIM-tray Spotted

After long months of speculations and waiting we’ve finally got some proof that the Apple tablet is real and even a name for it: the Apple Slate. During a speech to the digital group at the New York Times, Bill Keller casually mentions this name and also claims that its launch is imminent. If you don’t believe us, watch the video below and skip straight to 8:30 for the two words we’ve been waiting for:

New York Times will be bringing content to said device and Keller introduced the tablet by saying something like “I’m hoping we can get the newsroom more actively involved in the challenge of delivering our best journalism in the form of Times Reader, iPhone apps, WAP, or the impending Apple slate…”

It doesn’t get more clear than that, I suppose and in other news the folks of Slashgear spotted a SIM-tray that might as well belong to the fresh Apple slate. Foxconn will be making the device once again and worst case scenario, the component pictured below is part of the next generation of iPhones, which is still good news.

iphone_4g_sim_tray1-540x343

This SIM-tray will go on sale for $14.05 and by looking at it we can tell that it’s larger than the one on the iPhone 3GS, uses a new extraction mechanism, it includes a metal frame and has a bigger outer curve radius. The latter feat suggests that it’ll be incorporated in a device that’s thicker than the iPhone 3GS.

So, Apple when are you going to announce that Slate of yours?
