  • ASUS cooperated with Verizon this summer and launched the 8 inch slate called ZenPad Z8. Now ASUS is debuting the ZenPad 3 8.0 Android tablet, a derived version from the ZenPad Z8, pictured below and basically a non Verizon variant of that unit.

There’s a 7.9 inch screen on board with a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution, accompanied by a hexa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 CPU and 2 GB of RAM (or more). We’ve got an 8 MP main camera and 2 MP front shooter, while the slate also brings up to 4 GB of RAM and up to 32 GB of storage. Both are double the amount of the Verizon model, priced at $250.

On the connectivity front there’s WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.0, USB Type C and 4G LTE via a SIM slot. Stereo speakers are here, as well as a microSD card slot, plus an audio jack. ASUS ZenPad 3 8.0 packs an 18 Wh/ 4680 mAh battery and it measures 0.3 inches in thickness. ASUS Seems to promote this model as a “cinematic entertainment” product.

Unfortunately, it supports only 1 out of 6 LTE bands on AT&T and none of the 4 LTE bands used by T-Mobile.
