Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air is the Company’s First Laptop, Unveiled Today and Priced at $520
Xiaomi’s big event today in Beijing finally brought us new devices, like the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air, the Chinese firm’s first laptop. It feels very much like a MacBook Air and looks quite slim and classy. The starting price is $520.
Running on Windows 10, this device has two versions: a 13.3 incher with potent specs and a more portable 12.5 incher. Both share a slim body, a Full HD screen with slim under glass bezels an a backlit keyboard. There’s an USB Type C charging port in the mix as well and the chassis of the laptop is all metal and minimalistic. Available in gold and silver, the product is priced at about $750 for the top spec model.
The 13.3 inch version of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air measures 14.8 mm in thickness and weighs 1.28 kg, while inside we find an Intel Core i5-6200U Skylake-U processor, a dual core 2.3 GHz unit, with turbo up to 2.7 GHz. There’s also an Nvidia GeForce 940MX GPU here, 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, 256 GB of SSD and a 40 Wh battery, that should provide up to 9.5 hours of usage.
Then there’s the 12.5 inch model, with a 12.9 mm waistline and 1.07 kg weight. This one relies on an Intel Core M3 CPU, no dedicated GPU, 4 GB RAM and 128 GB SSD. HDMI and USB 3.0 ports are on both models. The price for this one is $520.
