Lenovo Launches CG Slate, a New Edutainment Tablet for Children, Priced at $111

  • Lenovo has partnered up with ConveGenius, in order to deliver an edutainment tablet for kids, dubbed CG Slate. This product is priced at just $111 and it’s mean for little ones in grades K to 5. It’s meant for the Indian market, but it may expand further.


    At its core, this is actually the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-20 model, that has the same hardware, but also educational stuff on board. This is a 7 inch tablet with an IPS panel and a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, while inside we find a 1.3 GHz quad core CPU, accompanied by 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage. This model runs Android 5.0 and offers a 2 MP main camera, plus a 0.3 MP front shooter.


    There’s also Dolby Audio in the mix, a front speaker and the whole thing weighs 269 grams. It also offers a 3450 mAh battery and integrates a Learn Zone, that lets the little ones learn about a variety of topics or simply check out video stories and digital books. Games are also offered within the NCERT syllabus. Then there’s the Play Zone, with cartoons, movies and games, all of them with a CG Slate mascot to give a tour to the kids.

    Parental control is in the mix, with a password included. Available in ebony, this model can be found on Flipkart.
