  • Apple launched today without a big fuss a new generation of the 12 inch Retina MacBook, with some improvements from the predecessor. Unchanged are the 12 inch Retina display and the single USB Type C port and the waistline is also the same, at 13.1 mm.

The product weighs just 2 pounds and comes in a rose gold color option, which was rumored over the past months, to be honest. Basically, if you see the last year model and the new one, the only clear giveaway is the color. The basic model is priced at $1299 with a Core M CPU clocked at 1.1 GHz, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.

The specs list goes like this:

    • CPU: 6th gen Intel Core M, 1.3 GHz
    • Display: 12 inch Retina
    • RAM: 8 GB, 1866 MHz
    • Storage: PCIe flash storage, up to 512 GB
    • Battery: 41.4 watt/hour Li-Po/ up to 10 hours if battery life

A novelty is also the Intel HD Graphics 515 solution, which is 25% faster than the predecessor. A force Touch trackpad is also in the mix.
