Ubuntu Tablet Aquaris M10 Now Open for Preorders, Shipments Arriving Next Month
It’s hard to be the creator of a relatively new face in the tablet OS segment, seeing how Firefox and Sailfish both crashed and burned in this area. Meanwhile, there’s still hope for Ubuntu, as the tablets with this OS on board are finally open for preorder, with shipments coming next month.
We knew from back in January that the first Ubuntu tablet would be made by Bq and then its specs came out last month, but then everything got quiet. All we knew was that we were going to see a Q2 launch and had no info on pricing. Bq has started taking preorders for the Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition Tablet and it comes in two versions.
Both of them have 10.1 inch screens, 2 GB of RAM and quad core MediaTek processors, as well as 16 GB of storage, with the option for microSD expansion. The difference here is the resolution and you may choose between 1280 x 800 pixels and a Full HD one. The HD one goes cheaper, at 250 euros and the Full HD one reaches 290 euros.
Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Editions ships during the second week of April. Hopefully this project won’t fail like Jolla’s.
