  • On February 21st, we were in Barcelona for a special press event where Huawei unveiled their latest creation called MateBook – a hybrid tablet with Windows 10 operating system on board. With a slim design, and also with high-end specs, this new product you’re seeing down below comes in the help of those people who want more from a tablet device.

Today, straight from Huawei we get to know that the company expects to ship about 400.000 MateBook tablets this year, a smaller number compared to the market watchers expectation that suggested 1 – 2 million of devices shipped in a 12-months interval. The reason why Huawei makes such a small expectation seems to stay behind the price tag of the MateBook.

Because of the high-price ($699 – $1.599), Huawei MateBook is not a friendly choice for consumers. At the same time it looks like Huawei MateBook has to deal with other similar products on the market, 2 in 1 tablets from companies like Lenovo, Asus and Acer. As you already know, MateBook brings a 12-inch display with a 2160 x 1440 pixels resolution, an Intel Core M processor and up to 8 GB of RAM memory.

This tablet is also pretty amazing from the dimensions point of view, measuring just 6.9 mm in thickness while weighting 630 grams – really incredible for a 12 inch tablet.
