CES 2013: Archos 97 Platinum HD Retina Display Tablet Handled at CES
Archos has been diversifying its product range with gaming tablets and tablets for kids, but that doesn’t mean they’re not dabbling in the high end area as well. Thus, we’re not that surprised to hear they brought a Retina Display tablet to CES 2013, one that was handled by the guys of CNET.
We’re dealing here with the Archos 97 Platinum HD, a 9.7 inch tablet with an IPS display, that supports a 2,048 x 1,536 pixel resolution and packs a 1.2 GHz quad core CPU, as well as 2 GB of RAM and an eight core GPU. The device runs Android 4.1 and incorporates dual cameras, while the design is supposed to be reminiscent of the iPad’s apparently. It also has 8 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and microUSB port.
The device is slim, has an aluminum back and overall it’s very similar to the recently announced Archos 97 Titanium. Both have IPS displays with the same resolution, but Titanium has a weaker CPU and GPU. Arcos 97 Platinum HD will hit the market in March, with a price tag of $329. iPad 4 rival for the price of an iPad Mini?! Want!
