  • Well, this could be a scrapped iPad 1 project or maybe the iPad 2… We’re hoping that this image that’s just been leaked online shows the future Apple Tablet, in spite of the fact we don’t have a specs list for it yet. What we do know is that the device will use dual dock connectors, as shown in the leaked pictures.

Meanwhile, Mission Repair claims we’ll be seeing the new iPad in 4 months, while MacRumors mentions that patents for dual dock connectors have already been filed by the Cupertino giant. What’s the use of the side connector? Well, that’s an easy one – docking the slate in landscape mode, of course. Still, this might be a prototype of the first iPad rejected by Steve Jobs…

What do you think? Credits for the pics go out to Mission Repair!

[Update] IntoMobile has some rumors concerning the new iPad, so it appears that the iPad 2 will feature a Retina Display and 128GB of internal storage. Also, the device will pack a 7 inch display, supposedly and a camera, plus a micro or mini USB port. Launch date could be scheduled for the first quarter of 2011.

Interestingly enough, the source of this info leak, Brian White of Ticonderoga Securities mentioned that that the old iPad will be ditched in favor of the new one. How’s that for a strategy?

I believe the 2nd iPad will be even greater than the 1st. Apple has taken into account the consumers feedback and is going to include into the device all the needed features. There’s a lot of 7-inch sized devices announced to have been launched by the beginning of 2011, but I think Apple’s small tablet will beat them all with all these new specifications.
