Amazon Kindle DX Graphite Goes for $379, Provides 50% More Contrast

If you’re looking for a larger Amazon Kindle, the DX model is the answer, with a price now gone to $379 for the updated version. The e-reader sports a 9.7 inch E Ink display with 50% more contrast than the previous and more expensive version. The case is now available in graphite instead of white, but the product is very much the same as before.

It integrates 3G wireless, used to download ebooks, magazines and more, plus it features a full QWERTY keyboard and provides storage for up to 3,000 documents. Its battery life is enough for a week of use with wireless on and double the time with wireless turned off.

The Kindle DX is quite big, at 10.4 x 7.2 x 0.38 inches, so this is not something to carry in your purse, that’s for sure. Preorders are available now and shipping from July 7th 2010.
