HP Slate Back on Track; No WebOS on Board, Coming in October 2010

Two recent rumours concerning the HP Slate were dismissed today: the fact that the device got cancelled and the rumour concerning a WebOS tablet. Monty Wong, personal computing systems VP at HP Taiwan is the source of this information and he mentions that the HP Slate should hit the market in October 2010.

It’ll run Windows 7 and come with “a wide range of software and application support”, it seems. Since, the whole Slate thing is cleared now, we wonder what will happen with webOS and what devices HP will choose to develop using this platform.

Wong announced that more details concerning this fact will be available after the finalization of the Palm buyout in July 2010.
