Windows 7 Runs on Apple iPad Via Citrix

Citrix Systems recently announced that it has managed to port Windows 7 to the Apple iPad, at least as a virtual installation. This info was mentioned in a blog post on the company’s website, by Chris Fleck, its VP of Community and Solutions Development. Turns out that companies using the XenDesktop or XenApp virtualization platforms will be able to use Win 7 on the iPad.

Fleck also wrote on the Citrix blog that the 9.7 inch display on the iPad, sporting an 1024 x 768 pixels resolution is great for a full virtual desktop infrastructure (XenDesktop). What’s interesting is that this Windows port will allow the device to run multiple apps at the same time, so does this mean that the multitaksing issue is solved for the iPad?

Keep in mind that Windows 7 can’t be installed on the iPad, but rather ran from a server and displayed on the device. Thus, the service becomes a client not the 100% OS.
