NEC Preparing Android Handheld?
Oct 27, 2009 NEC
NEC seems to be preparing to join the gang of companies making mobile PCs, by launching a model that should have the same features as a desktop computer. We also learned that the new device doesn’t have a name yet, it runs Android and features 3 main buttons and a 7-8 inch LCD display.
The screen looks like a touch unit and in case you’re looking for a bigger picture, you’re all out of luck, since this thumbnail-ish image is all we have, at this point. NEC claims that the portable device is able to boot up quickly and allows users to access files and software via cloud computing.
NEC’s product will start selling in Japan and the maker hopes to ship 100,000 to 200,000 units per year.
