Toshiba Introduces Journ.E Touch Tablet


Toshiba has just introduced the Journ.E Touch tablet, a stylish and slim device that’s completely portable. It can be moved from one room to another and even accompany you to the supermarket as a digital shopping list. The tablet comes in a wide variety of colours, like chocolate, plum, cherry, ice or ivory.

Journ.E packs a panel, with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution, 16:9 ratio and LED backlighting. Its list also includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, USB 2.0, HDMI connection via cradle, full USB host functionality and a 2200 mAh Li-polymer battery. The latter will provide up to 7 hours of music playback, when fully charged, up to 2 hours of video playback and up to 2 hours of Internet playback via WiFi.

1GB Nand Flash is what you’ll get, on the memory side, but there’s also a SDHC card slot in there, ready for a 32GB expansion. A 533 MHz ARM11 CPU runs the show on the device, together with WinCE Pro, plus Internet Explorer 6.0. The tablet measures 189 x 133 x 14mm and weighs 427 grams.
